How did BV-area legislators vote on Voucher Bill 2119?

The Kansas House approved Voucher Bill 2119 yesterday.

In the same month that Blue Valley Schools' budget shortfalls have forced CUTS to paras for next year, forced the district to establish committees to recommend more CUTS at Elementary, Middle and High School, and when our local schools are still operating below 2009 funding levels when adjusted for inflation...some BV-area Representatives voted to start a new voucher-style program to give tax money to private schools.

Here are the Blue Valley House Reps who voted AGAINST our community's schools and FOR funneling public money to private schools through tax credits and educational savings accounts - as well as further limiting the local control of our BV Board of Education. (Remember a Yea vote on HB 2119 is a vote AGAINST our kids and their Blue Valley Schools.)

Rep. Megan Lynn (HD 49)

Rep. Ron Ryckman (HD 78)

Rep. Sean Tarwater (HD 27)

Rep. Adam Thomas (HD 26)

Rep. Carl Turner (HD 28)

THANK YOU to these BV-area Representatives who voted NO on HB 2119, opposing new voucher programs and legislative overreach:

Rep. Jennifer Day (HD 49)

Rep. Linda Featherston (HD 16)

Rep. Brett Parker (HD 29)

Rep. Mari-Lynn Poskin (HD 20)

Rep. Chris Croft was ABSENT.
