Keep Steve Roberts off our School Board - Your vote for Gina Knapp is critical

Gina Knapp’s opponent, Steve Roberts, served two terms on the Kansas State Board of Education, and in this elected position h͟e͟ ͟s͟h͟o͟c͟k͟e͟d͟ ͟e͟v͟e͟r͟y͟o͟n͟e͟ ͟i͟n͟ ͟t͟h͟e͟ ͟r͟o͟o͟m͟ ͟w͟h͟e͟n͟ ͟h͟e͟ ͟u͟s͟e͟d͟ ͟t͟h͟e͟ ͟N͟-͟w͟o͟r͟d͟ ͟d͟u͟r͟i͟n͟g͟ ͟a͟ ͟B͟o͟a͟r͟d͟ ͟d͟i͟s͟c͟u͟s͟s͟i͟o͟n͟...after the former Topeka NAACP president had addressed the Board on the topic of African-American history.

After doing so, Roberts doubled down, refused to admit wrongdoing or apologize, claimed he was willing to go against political correctness, and suggested those critical of his behavior might be seeking media attention.

It pains and nauseates us to even have to bring this to your attention. But w͟e͟ ͟K͟N͟O͟W͟ ͟B͟l͟u͟e͟ ͟V͟a͟l͟l͟e͟y͟ ͟v͟o͟t͟e͟r͟s͟ ͟w͟o͟u͟l͟d͟ ͟N͟E͟V͟E͟R͟ ͟k͟n͟o͟w͟i͟n͟g͟l͟y͟ ͟e͟l͟e͟c͟t͟ ͟s͟o͟m͟e͟o͟n͟e͟ ͟w͟i͟t͟h͟ ͟a͟ ͟h͟i͟s͟t͟o͟r͟y͟ ͟o͟f͟ ͟t͟h͟i͟s͟ ͟v͟i͟l͟e͟ ͟b͟e͟h͟a͟v͟i͟o͟r͟. 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙂𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙆𝙣𝙖𝙥𝙥 𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡.

Gina Knapp has served a 4-year term on the Board of Education, exhibiting leadership and inclusivity. She was elected by fellow Board members as their VP and President. She led the Board during the recent Superintendent search.

ALL BV voters can vote for Gina Knapp (along with Dr. Benson and Dr. Evans) in the School Board election Tues., Nov. 4; 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 in-person voting starts Sat., Oct. 25 at BV Hilltop campus. Make a plan to vote.
