How do you feel about these NRA grades?
SUBV members use many sources to make their voting decisions. These snapshots of BV-area NRA grades illustrate the extreme differences between candidates from the point of view of just one special-interest group.
While there’s little overlap between the NRA positions and SUBV, there is one important point affecting public schools: Arming teachers - yes or no? Most SUBV members (including many teachers) say No. The NRA is on record as saying Yes. The Kansas Republican platform also supports arming teachers. Unless a Republican candidate has come out and said they don’t support arming teachers, we think it’s fair to assume they do - based on their own party’s platform.
The NRA doesn’t publicize their questionnaire or answers, so we recommend that voters ask your candidates their opinion on this issue, if it’s important to you. Let us know if you do get any answers.
