Dr. Megan Phillips for HD 8

In the race for KS House District 8, we have endorsed clinical psychologist and Blue Valley parent Dr. Megan Phillips.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, and says, “Blue Valley is absolutely miles ahead of other public schools, and we are incredibly grateful to call this community home. It is also admirable to see how much our schools have done with constricted budgets, and I’m so hopeful to think of how much better they

can be when we actually give them the money they need.”

Phillips opposes any voucher-type scheme, understanding that tax diversion programs to private schools are designed to undermine our public school system. She will vote to fully fund KS public schools, including the MILLIONS that districts like Blue Valley are shortchanged annually due to SPED underfunding by KsLeg.

Phillips opposes arming teachers and is a Gun Sense candidate endorsed by Moms Demand Action. Unlike the current legislator holding this seat, she is not in cahoots with outside interests or anti-public education forces (see below).

Phillips is challenging 𝗥𝗲𝗽. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗳𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 (𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗢𝘄𝗻) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 “𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆” - and therefore consistently votes against our BV schools. We’ve documented his terrible voting record over the years - see links in comments. 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

Because he’s backed by AFP, Croft consistently votes for every tax cut - especially the ones for multi-millionaires - 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 and community.

Local property taxes could be CUT if the state hadn’t so severely restricted tax revenue. But now that they’re running for office, MAGA Republicans like Croft tell voters they want to “cut property taxes.” Newsflash: 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟭𝟱 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝘅𝗲𝘀!

Why haven’t they done that yet?

Croft has also voted 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 repeatedly, voting to outlaw mail ballot elections (like school and city bond elections), against the 3-day grace period for mailed ballots, and to severely restrict mail ballot use.

Croft has been endorsed by the NRA and has voted the way they want him to.

Croft is well-known among HD 8 voters for NEVER holding town halls open to his constituents. Instead, he hosts occasional invitation-only meetings and then posts about them after the fact - to make it look like he held a voter event. Croft won’t even show up at library forums during the legislative session.

The KC Star published an editorial in March 2026 by one of Croft’s constituents, Sheila Albers (retired BV principal and well-know local advocate). Albers described seeing a post about a constituent event after the fact, emailing Croft, and getting this message from his chief of staff: “Chris Croft’s constituent coffees are hosted randomly as schedules allow. Because of the limited space they are typically by invitation to thoughtful people who are versed in the issues.” Wow.  (Links in comments.)

As the 2026 filing deadline neared this spring, we posted that some of the WORST anti-public education House Reps from our area were still UNopposed. Dr. Megan Phillips saw that post, and she stepped up! This is the kind of bold action it takes to get anti-public education legislators OUT of Topeka. We applaud Dr. Phillips for her efforts to unseat Croft in this election.

We hope the majority of House District 8 voters who value our kids’ Blue Valley Schools will vote, and spread the word to neighbors: 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗳𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂! He actively avoids listening to you, and he doesn’t vote for issues you care about, including the future of our kids’ schools. 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴!!
