Blue Valley Schools places a strong priority on literacy. Middle and high school students take English Language Arts every year, where they read a variety of “classic” (older) and more “modern” literature. In fact, they not only read, but they also discuss, write about, and compare works of literature.
Important classic works are studied - along with modern literature. New, amazing novels are still being written. It’s a disservice to graduate 21st-century students without introducing them to a variety of important books - including some written in the past 50 years.
