Dan Osman for House District 48
In KS House District 48, we’ve endorsed local attorney, Blue Valley parent, incumbent Rep. Dan Osman for re-election. HD 48 is in the central area of Blue Valley on both sides of 69 highway.
In the KS Legislature, Osman has joined public education supporters in voting to fully fund our neighborhood schools while supporting a responsible tax cut, after the state budget was stabilized post-Brownback. Osman has voted in favor of fully funding Special Education, and against measures that would make it harder to vote.
Osman sends regular constituent emails detailing every bill that was voted on, and how he voted. He attends monthly in-person Town Halls, keeping constituents informed and hearing their feedback. We suspect his regular participation in the monthly “Senate 8 and Friends” Town Halls - open to the public and advertised in advance - has contributed to him being unopposed in this election. We don’t know of any of the current BV-area Republican supermajority officeholders who hold open, regular public forums like these. Voters appreciate it.
On his website, Osman says: “I’m here to make our leaders in Kansas more accountable to voters, to invest in education for our future generations, and to restore responsible budgeting to Topeka.” HD 48 voters are fortunate to have him working for them.
Before moving to Blue Valley, Osman was already actively supporting public education - serving two terms on the Hickman Mills School Board. He was elected to serve HD 48 in 2021 by the district precinct committee to fill an opening; he was elected by voters in 2022 (winning against an opponent backed by over $16,000 in Americans For Prosperity money) and in 2024 he defeated a voucher supporter who ran against him. In 2026, Osman is unopposed.
